The archived record identifies an 88mm Flak gun, an emplacement and four gunners. That combination should remain visible when the release is described or compared with a loose example.
The saved photograph shows several crew positions around the mounting and a prepared scenic surface beneath. A gun-only image would leave out much of the subject.
A position with several working areas
A large gun set creates interest on more than one side. The crew, controls and projecting equipment encourage the viewer to look around the model rather than treat the shield or barrel as its only face.
