The Operation ToyBox catalog · WS013
WS013 places a crouching machine gunner at the front of an open halftrack compartment. The long armoured sides, front wheels and rear tracks give the vehicle a distinctive profile before any surrounding infantry are added.
The finish is part of the identification
The archived description mentions both summer camouflage and a winter version. The saved reference photograph here shows the coloured camouflage treatment, so it should not be used as a universal picture of every finish associated with the release.
When a seller uses the base code alone, compare the actual paint treatment and gunner with the example being offered.
A vehicle that connects infantry and armour
The Canadian Tank Museum’s halftrack discussion places the Sd.Kfz. 251 family among the vehicles supporting German ground forces. Its open troop compartment provides a different collecting subject from a fully enclosed tank.
In miniature, that open space invites a view from slightly above. A side view shows the running gear, while the higher angle reveals the gunner and interior.
Preserve the release’s small details
The crouching figure and forward weapon are integral identification clues. A halftrack photographed from the rear may hide both, so more than one angle is useful.
WS013 belongs in the catalog for its vehicle type and its early treatment within the range. The finish variation is worth keeping visible in the record, while the wider WS historical overview provides context for the series.
Release record and collecting notes
Sager’s archived WS013 product record lists a retirement date of January 2003. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
