The Operation ToyBox catalog · WH101
WH101 carries no visible weapon in his hands. Both arms are raised as the German paratrooper walks, with his camouflage jacket remaining a strong clue to the subject’s military identity.
The raised hands define the release
The archived description identifies a captured Luftwaffe paratrooper. The title’s German phrase means “hands up,” matching the gesture shown by the sculpt.
This is a German airborne subject. It should not be placed in the site’s U.S. paratrooper category simply because it includes the word “paratrooper.”
A capture scene from the prisoner’s side
The figure does not require a sculpted captor in the same box to explain his situation. His arms and walking posture carry the idea of surrender and movement into custody.
The WH series history provides the wider setting for the German forces represented. The release itself does not identify a named prisoner, exact capture site or individual fate.
Compare the companion prisoner
WH102 depicts another Wehrmacht prisoner in a different pose and clothing. Together, they offer variety within the same broad subject while remaining separately cataloged figures.
The raised arms make WH101 taller and wider than a conventional walking infantryman. Allow clear space around the hands so the gesture is not lost against scenery.
Why captivity belongs in the collection
Military history includes surrender as well as attack. WH101 adds that change in circumstance to the figure range without needing to depict another exchange of fire.
Its camouflage jacket, airborne identity and raised-hands pose are the details to retain when identifying the figure among loose German soldiers.
Release record and collecting notes
Sager’s archived WH101 product record lists a release date of January 2022. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
