WH099 gives the WH range a practical cargo truck with an open rear body. The tall wooden sides and compact cab make a very different silhouette from the armoured vehicles nearby.
The removable benches matter
The archived description specifies a seated driver and two removable bench seats. With the benches fitted, the rear can accommodate separately supplied infantry; without them, it provides space for a cargo display.
The description’s examples of possible loads are display suggestions. They do not mean an infantry group, ammunition load or anti-aircraft gun comes with the truck.
Transport joins the small stories together
A truck can connect marching figures with supplies and a destination beyond the scene. Its role is less visually dramatic than a tank’s, but it gives many other objects in the collection a reason to move.

A natural companion for WH100
The four seated Panzer Grenadiers are a separate release. Together with WH099, they create a transport display while retaining two distinct original set codes.
The distinction is especially useful because an old WH100 retail page accidentally repeats the truck description. The figures and truck should not become one confused record.
Why the empty cargo bed is useful
The open space leaves room for different collecting themes. Before adding a load, preserve a photograph of the truck’s original driver and benches so later changes do not obscure what belongs to the release.
WH099 earns its entry through that flexible transport role and its specific removable seating arrangement.
Release record and collecting notes
Sager’s archived WH099 product record lists a release date of November 2021 and a retirement date of February 2025. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
