The Operation ToyBox catalog · WH079

WH079 wears a field cap rather than a helmet and keeps the MP40 close to his body. The kneeling stance gives him a compact outline with a different character from the aimed-firing figure in WH041.

The familiar listing name

The original title uses “Schmeisser,” while the archived description identifies the weapon as the MP40. Both terms help locate the release in older collecting records.

The reference photo shows the cap, low weapon position and rough ground under the figure. Those details should remain together in the identification.

A contrast within the same broad subject

WH041 also combines an MP40 with a kneeling soldier, but its covered helmet and shouldered weapon create another pose entirely. This is why the code matters as much as the weapon name.

A collector following both releases can see how small changes in headgear and arm position alter the story a figure suggests.

Keep the interpretation grounded

The WH overview explains the wider wartime setting. The available product record does not name this man, assign a regiment or specify the street or field represented by the base.

Those choices can belong to a display, but they should not become unsupported release facts.

Why a close view rewards the collector

The hands, magazine and cap are easier to see from a slight front angle. Placing the figure directly behind a tall obstacle would conceal much of its distinctive appearance.

WH079 belongs in the catalog as a separate low-ready MP40 pose. Its entry helps preserve the sculpt’s identity when it appears among other German kneeling figures without the original box.

Release record and collecting notes

Sager’s archived WH079 product record lists a release date of December 2017 and a retirement date of November 2021. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
