The Operation ToyBox catalog · WH061
WH061 has the practical outline of a working transport: front wheels, a long rear track run and an open compartment behind the driver. Its interest lies in what it can move for the rest of the collection.
The field-grey version
The archived release describes this Sd.Kfz. 11 in field grey, following an earlier Afrika Korps treatment of the vehicle. It specifies a driver figure with this version.
The saved photograph shows the seated driver and the rear carrying space. Those details distinguish a complete example from an empty vehicle shell.
Artillery needs transport too
The record identifies both general transport and artillery-tractor roles, with the 10.5cm howitzer as a suggested companion. The connection opens a display story about moving a gun between positions.
A gun collection arranged only in firing poses leaves that part of the work invisible. A towing vehicle adds a different moment without requiring a new battlefield scene.
A natural pairing with WH062
The field-grey howitzer has its own code. Displaying the two together creates a linked vehicle-and-gun arrangement, while the individual entries preserve what each release contains.
The WH catalog also includes separately released artillery personnel, allowing the broader group to be understood as several related purchases.
What to notice in the reference photograph
The open upper structure lets the viewer see the driver and carrying area. A side angle keeps the unusual wheel-and-track combination visible, while a high foreground wall would hide much of it.
WH061 belongs as a transport subject with a specific driver and colour treatment. Those details matter more for identification than the general phrase “German half-track.”
Release record and collecting notes
Sager’s archived WH061 product record lists a release date of September 2016 and a retirement date of September 2018. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
