WH047 has no conventional rotating turret to interrupt its low upper body. The long gun projects from the front of the casemate, while side skirts and camouflage give the model a broad, continuous outline.
The long designation describes a different vehicle
The release is identified as a Jagdpanzer IV with the L/70 gun. A wartime U.S. Handbook on German Military Forces lists a 7.5cm L/70 weapon on a Panzer IV chassis, alongside other self-propelled combinations.
That contemporary list helps explain why the chassis name alone is insufficient. A Panzer IV tank and a turretless gun vehicle based on the same family are distinct catalog subjects.
What the lack of a turret meant to a crewman
In an oral-history interview preserved by the Canadian War Museum, Hans Friesen recalled the difference between a turreted tank and a Jagdpanzer’s restricted gun movement. His account emphasizes how much the driver mattered when the whole vehicle had to be repositioned.
It is a personal recollection, not a specification sheet for the King & Country model, but it gives the low silhouette a human context.
The model rewards a front-quarter view
The reference image shows a crew figure above the roofline and the long barrel extending well ahead of the tracks. A clear angle reveals both the front armour and the skirts.
WH047 belongs in the collection as a particular tank-destroyer configuration. Retain the full code and gun designation when comparing examples; a generic “German tank” description loses the feature that defines it.
Release record and collecting notes
Sager’s archived WH047 product record lists a release date of June 2016 and a retirement date of July 2018. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
