King & Country · Texas Revolution · RTA056

RTA056 takes the collection outside the Alamo walls. Sam Houston sits on a chestnut horse with his sword raised, giving the RTA range a mounted leader for the wider campaign that followed the siege.

Houston was not at the Alamo

This is explicit in Sagers’ release description and essential to displaying the figure. The Alamo’s historical corrections also challenge the familiar claim that the garrison knowingly bought time while Houston assembled his army: he was at the convention when the Alamo fell and reached Gonzales afterward. The miniature belongs to the broader Texas Revolution, not among defenders positioned inside a reconstruction of the final assault.

A different mounted silhouette

The horse’s pale facial marking and lower legs break up its warm coat. Houston wears a broad-brimmed hat rather than Santa Anna’s tall plume, and his upright sword creates a narrow vertical line. The reins, saddle equipment and rider’s legs reward a side view. Comparing RTA056 and RTA001 makes the contrast in costume and command gesture easy to see without needing a large diorama.

Use a pair of labels, not an invented confrontation

The two mounted commanders can stand at opposite ends of a shelf with the campaign dates between them. That is a biographical comparison, not a claim that they met in the poses supplied by the manufacturer. Seguín adds another connection to the later campaign, particularly if the label explains his survival and service beyond the siege. This approach gives a mixed RTA display a chronology instead of treating every release as simultaneous.

Inspect the tall and narrow details

Look closely at the sword, hat brim, reins and horse’s lower legs. A side photograph can expose a bent blade or an attachment obscured in the standard catalog angle. The raised weapon also needs clearance under a cabinet shelf. Sagers lists May 2011 as the release date and March 2023 as retirement. Use those details for identification, then compare the offered figure’s condition and total delivered price.
