The Operation ToyBox catalog · DD379
An older man lifts both hands in victory signs, his jacket carrying decorations. DD379 introduces a First World War veteran into the French liberation group.
Two wars meet in one figure
The manufacturer identifies him as a veteran of the earlier conflict. His age and decorated civilian clothing make that retrospective role visible without putting him back into a wartime uniform.
He belongs in a Second World War liberation scene, while his represented service history also makes the First World War category useful for searching.
The gesture is exuberant, the clothing personal
The two raised hands create a broad silhouette above the suit and waistcoat. Unlike a flagbearer, the figure carries the celebration entirely through his own body language.
The medals invite a closer look, but the release does not identify their exact awards or a named service record. They should not be used to invent a regiment or a particular battle for this anonymous man.
A place near the younger spectators
Positioning him beside the scout or a family group creates a visible contrast in age. It adds depth to the crowd without claiming that these separately released figures knew one another.
A small gap around the hands keeps the double victory gesture readable. The decorated chest also deserves a clear frontal photograph when comparing examples.
Introduced in June 2024, DD379 adds memory to the celebration. The set’s interest comes from an older veteran witnessing another liberation, bringing the earlier war into view through one civilian figure.
Release record and collecting notes
Sager’s archived DD379 product record lists a release date of June 2024. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
