The grass finish is a collecting distinction
The corresponding DD354(B) uses sand. Both belong to the standing-firing subject, but the terrain finish changes how the miniature fits with the surrounding figures.
A catalog that drops the suffix loses information that matters in a display. The green base should remain visible in a seller’s photograph, especially when the title refers only to DD354.
The rifle gives the pose direction
The stock meets the shoulder, the head lowers toward the sights and the supporting hand extends under the fore-end. Together those details establish a focused firing posture.
The pack and equipment remain behind the torso. A three-quarter view lets the viewer see the whole body rather than only the front of the helmet and muzzle.

DD359(G) provides the lower firing pose. The two figures can create a simple height contrast without needing a large scenic structure.

DD354(G) is a single anonymous British infantryman. The release record does not attach a personal biography or named action to him; his useful identity is the full-height firing posture and grass-base version within the later D-Day infantry selection.
