The Operation ToyBox catalog · DD333
DD333 moves forward with a Sten in one hand and a grenade in the other. The green beret and forward step connect him with the French commando groups, while the two different objects give this single figure a clear identity of his own.

The small release has a specific role
King & Country describes a running fusilier marin advancing with the grenade. The sculpt supplies a concentrated action pose that can fit between the larger DD331 and DD332 groups.
The figure is not named. It should not be assigned to a particular commando veteran simply because the broader subject is associated with Kieffer’s 177 men.
The 177 were part of a wider French contribution
The Ordre de la Libération’s discussion of French participation in D-Day emphasizes that the naval commandos were not the only French personnel involved: sailors, airmen and parachutists also took part.
That context prevents a familiar commando story from becoming the whole national story of the operation.
Two hands, two visual clues
The Sten supplies the longer shape along one side of the figure. The grenade is smaller and closer to the body, rewarding a view that keeps the free hand clear of scenery.
The running legs make the pose more mobile than the firing and kneeling figures in the boxed groups. A little space ahead preserves that impression of forward movement.
DD333 is useful precisely because it is a single release. It can add another posture to a French commando display without requiring a second copy of an entire four-man group.
Its collecting identity rests on the green beret, Sten, grenade and moving body together. Check those details against the reference photograph, especially where a loose figure is offered under a generic commando title.
Release record and collecting notes
Sager’s archived DD333 product record lists a release date of September 2019. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
