The Operation ToyBox catalog · DD320

Both figures in DD320 are down at ground level. One Ranger fires a BAR while the other lies close beside him with an M1 rifle, creating a long, low composition suited to the exposed beach setting in the release description.

Omaha is part of the Ranger story too

The U.S. Army’s Ranger history records the participation of the 2nd and 5th Ranger Battalions in the Normandy landings. The famous cliff assault should not obscure the Ranger fighting on Omaha itself.

King & Country explicitly places this pair under fire from the positions above that beach. The sculpt remains an anonymous interpretation, rather than a named two-man team.

The weapons create different jobs within the pair

The longer automatic rifle reaches forward from the firing figure. His companion’s M1 gives the second man a separate infantry identity while retaining the same low body level.

The close arrangement makes the figures feel connected. They can also be given a little space so the viewer can distinguish the two bodies and weapons.

A useful change of height

Beside DD326’s moving riflemen, the pair creates a clear contrast between men on the ground and men trying to move forward. A low obstacle can suggest the search for cover without hiding the faces and hands.

The set does not require an elaborate fortification to communicate its subject. Its strength is the way the two lowered bodies make the beach feel exposed.

DD320 adds a two-man BAR-and-rifle composition to the catalog, with the original Omaha context giving the title a specific meaning.

When comparing an example, check for both Rangers. A single prone gunner may resemble the subject at a glance, but the neighboring rifleman is part of the complete release and changes the way the scene reads.

Release record and collecting notes

Sager’s archived DD320 product record lists a release date of July 2019. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
