The Operation ToyBox catalog · DD287-2

The assisting paratrooper bends toward his wounded companion in DD287-2, bringing the two bodies into one close scene. The 101st Airborne version preserves the same casualty subject as DD287-1 while giving it the Screaming Eagles’ divisional identity.

The scene begins after the explosion

King & Country describes a nearby mortar burst and a wounded man attempting to get up. The sculpt concentrates on the next human action: another soldier reaching him.

The helper’s presence matters as much as the visible injury. It turns the release from an isolated casualty figure into a relationship between two men.

Aid is not the same as a medic’s portrait

The manufacturer calls the assisting figure another trooper. The scene belongs among medical and casualty subjects for searching, but that category should not turn him into an identified medical orderly.

Likewise, the painted wounds do not tell a complete medical story. The catalog records the depicted event and the helping gesture without assigning an unsupported diagnosis or outcome.

Keep the eagle version distinct

The 101st identification and DD287-2 suffix separate this release from the 82nd Airborne pair. Shoulder photographs are useful where packaging is missing or a listing uses only the shortened DD287 number.

The two men are anonymous in the product record. Their division is specified, but their names and exact location are not.

A different kind of companion for the action sets

DD285-2 shows coordinated fire, and DD286-2 supplies a low ready pose. This pair adds the consequences of combat and a soldier’s immediate response to them.

They can sit in their own vignette within the wider airborne collection. A restrained setting gives the wounded man and the reaching helper the space they need, without surrounding the group with activity that overwhelms it.

DD287-2 earns its place through that close interaction. The detail to preserve in a display is the connection between the men, with their equipment and insignia supporting the story around it.

Release record and collecting notes

Sager’s archived DD287-2 product record lists a release date of June 2016. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
