The Operation ToyBox catalog · DD268-2
The front trooper holds still while his companion works at the parachute harness behind him. DD268-2 is a small 101st Airborne scene in which careful preparation supplies all the action.
A practical gesture carries the story
The manufacturer identifies the task as checking the main parachute harness. The two poses fit that description: one man presents the equipment, and the other attends to it from behind.
The scene feels complete without an aircraft or an officer giving instructions. Its meaning is contained in the relationship between the figures.
Use it as the center of an assembly group
The pair can anchor a display of the standing, seated and walking 101st releases. Arrange the other figures around the task rather than lining every base along the same edge.
A clear side view shows the hands, packs and shared space. A front view alone may make the second soldier look like an unrelated figure hidden behind the first.
The suffix preserves the division
This is the -2 version, with 101st shoulder patches. DD268-1 is the 82nd counterpart. The common scene should not cause the two catalog entries to be merged, since the manufacturer offered the divisional presentations separately.
The July 2015 release record supplies the date but does not identify named soldiers or a particular airfield. The scene is best understood as a representative preparation moment.
For collectors, DD268-2 adds an activity that connects the surrounding figures. It turns a gathering of packed troopers into a sequence of checks, waiting and departure, while keeping the story focused on two men and one necessary task.
Release record and collecting notes
Sager’s archived DD268-2 product record lists a release date of July 2015 and a retirement date of August 2018. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
