The Operation ToyBox catalog · DD266-1

One paratrooper kneels while the other sits with his legs forward. DD266-1 lowers the whole scene, giving the 82nd preparation group a pause beneath the standing and walking figures.

Two figures, not one alternate view

The reference shows a pair of differently posed men. The kneeling figure leans over the front of his equipment, while the seated man looks upward with his rifle beside him.

That exchange of heights is useful in a display. The seated soldier can look toward another figure without needing a dramatic pointing or shouting gesture.

A waiting scene needs places to rest

Most military miniature arrangements quickly become crowded with upright bodies. These two poses create space above them and allow the viewer to see farther into the group.

Place them near the front of an assembly-area display, with standing men behind. The equipment remains visible and the scene acquires a rhythm of standing, kneeling and sitting.

The sculpt suggests a moment, not a biography

The packed harnesses and quiet poses belong to the release’s pre-jump family. They suggest time spent waiting and attending to equipment, without identifying a particular conversation or individual experience.

The archive gives an August 2015 release date. DD266-2 is the equivalent 101st version, making the shoulder insignia important when distinguishing otherwise closely related figures.

For a complete example, compare both men and their equipment with the photograph. The set’s contribution to the collection is the pair’s low, relaxed composition: it gives the airborne story room for anticipation and ordinary pauses before the movement toward the aircraft.

Release record and collecting notes

Sager’s archived DD266-1 product record lists a release date of August 2015 and a retirement date of August 2018. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
