The Operation ToyBox catalog · DD258
Two bodies lean into a close struggle in DD258, with one pistol raised above the men and another held between them. The British commando and German soldier form a single concentrated scene, their different uniforms making the encounter readable despite the tightly interlocked arms.

The composition depends on both figures
The release description presents the commando firing during the struggle. The miniature fixes one violent instant, with the raised weapon extending the group upward and the two sets of legs anchoring it below.
The British figure’s brown clothing and wool cap contrast with the German soldier’s green tunic, grey trousers and steel helmet. Those broad differences help distinguish the bodies where the arms overlap.
This is a two-person vignette. The interaction, rather than either man considered alone, is the defining feature of the release.
Training history provides context
The National Army Museum’s photograph of close-quarter training at Achnacarry records that aspect of commando preparation during the war. It places the subject within a training history without establishing a real incident behind this particular sculpt.
The set remains a manufacturer-created combat scene. Its dramatic arrangement should not be mistaken for a documentary reconstruction of a named action.
Choose an angle that keeps the arms legible
A straight side view can flatten the men together. A slight turn reveals the faces, raised pistol and space between the uniforms more clearly.
Keep additional figures back from the pair. The vignette already contains enough movement, and surrounding it too closely can make the central interaction difficult to follow.
For collecting purposes, compare both figures and the projecting hands and weapons with the reference image. DD258 adds a concentrated confrontation to the broader DD commando sequence, best understood as one composed group rather than two generic armed figures.
Release record and collecting notes
Sager’s archived DD258 product record lists a release date of June 2015. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
