The Operation ToyBox catalog · DD251

The bazooka stretches across DD251’s upper body, projecting beyond both the helmet and the forward knee. Its long tube makes the figure unmistakable among the rifle and Thompson carriers of the airborne group.

A concrete reminder survives in Devon

Historic England’s record for the practice rocket wall at Braunton identifies a structure built in 1943 for American training before D-Day. It survives as a physical reminder of the preparations behind the weapon’s wartime use.

That is an interesting historical connection for a small figure. A collector can move from the miniature’s carried equipment to a surviving training landscape, rather than relying only on battlefield anecdotes.

The kneeling pose gives the tube a platform

One knee rests on the base while the opposite leg bends forward. The hands and shoulder gather beneath the weapon, with the camouflaged helmet partly hidden behind its length.

The tube is the largest simple shape in a figure otherwise covered by straps, pockets and painted camouflage. Brown boots and a small U.S. flag patch add identifiable accents below and beside it.

The release contains a single gunner. The short product record does not identify a separate loader or a particular historical team.

Check the whole outline

A listing photograph should show both ends of the bazooka, the hands and the base. Cropping the long weapon can conceal the very detail that distinguishes this release.

For display, give the tube clear space and keep nearby figures from overlapping the face. Its horizontal shape can balance a standing rifleman while the kneeling body preserves a lower line through the group.

DD251 adds a different equipment role to the DD airborne catalog. The interest lies in the contrast between the portable weapon’s length and the compact figure beneath it, with the Braunton training site providing a tangible route into the history.

Release record and collecting notes

Sager’s archived DD251 product record lists a release date of March 2015 and a retirement date of December 2020. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
