The Operation ToyBox catalog · DD182

DD182 stands with an M1 carbine upright in one hand and the other hand cupped beside his mouth. The figure’s open expression and raised elbow make his activity readable even at a distance.

The title has a small spelling trap

The archived page abbreviates the subject as a shouting sergeant, with a typo in the heading. Its description uses the broader term NCO and identifies the carbine.

This entry keeps the release code and the actual activity together. It does not turn an abbreviated seller title into a personal identity or a specific named rank holder.

The voice points across the scene

The saved photograph shows the head angled toward an unseen listener. The upright weapon stays close to the body, leaving the raised hand and face as the dominant gesture.

That is a different approach from a pointing officer whose extended arm gives a precise line across the display. Here the pose suggests a call to the group more generally.

A companion to the August infantry releases

DD183’s machine-gun pair and the rifle figures DD184–DD187 supply several different heights and actions. DD182 adds a clear leadership or coordinating role among them.

The D-Day historical overview provides the campaign framework. The individual description does not establish the words being shouted, the unit or the location.

Why this NCO belongs separately

A standing caller can bring a scattered infantry group into a visual relationship without requiring a vehicle or scenic object. Keep the face and cupped hand visible, particularly if the figure stands behind lower men.

The original carbine, raised hand and upright posture distinguish DD182 from other American sergeant figures. Those details make the catalog useful when the familiar shouting title appears on more than one release.

Release record and collecting notes

Sager’s archived DD182 product record lists a release date of August 2012 and a retirement date of January 2017. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
