The Operation ToyBox catalog · DD167

DD167 carries his rifle diagonally across his chest, with his feet set in a walking stride. The weapon gives the figure a strong rising line that contrasts with the lower carry in DD168.

The rifle has its own industrial history

The archived description identifies a Lee-Enfield. The Royal Armouries’ wartime weapons collection places the No. 4 rifle within Britain’s effort to supply troops with a design suited to mass production.

That context connects a familiar infantry silhouette with the factories behind it. The miniature’s short title describes the carry position rather than giving a complete technical specification for the weapon.

The hands keep the pose distinct

One hand supports the fore-end while the other holds the rifle lower across the body. The saved photograph makes the resulting diagonal easy to see, with the netted helmet above it and webbing around the torso.

Those details distinguish DD167 from another walking Tommy even when the uniforms appear broadly similar.

A group built from different carries

DD165’s sergeant holds a Sten, DD168 carries a bayoneted rifle low and DD169 has a slung rifle. Together they show how a manufacturer can vary a walking group without making every man point or shout.

A slight change in spacing lets those different weapon positions remain visible. Crowding the figures can merge the rifles into one busy line.

Why preserve the individual code?

The figure belongs within the British side of the D-Day collection, but the release does not identify a particular named patrol.

Keeping DD167 attached to its photograph preserves the exact original pose. That is especially useful when several loose British infantry figures arrive together and their different carry positions become the clearest route back to their catalog identities.

Release record and collecting notes

Sager’s archived DD167 product record lists a release date of May 2012. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
