King & Country DD157 American Escort MP: White Equipment Makes the Role Visible

Headquarters scenes belong to the campaign too

The U.S. Army’s First Army history places the command headquarters and its preparations within the invasion story. A campaign collection can therefore include inspections, escorts and staff work alongside the beach assault.

The original DD157 description gives the MP an escort role, but does not identify a particular named policeman or a documented visit. The miniature represents the activity rather than one verified photograph.

A useful contrast with the British redcap

DD155 is a British military policeman standing in a salute. DD157 is an American MP moving with an escort party. Their different headgear, colours and postures preserve two separate service identities.

Placing them in the same catalog should make those differences easier to search, rather than merging both under a generic police label.

Why the escort belongs separately

A famous general can dominate a display so completely that his companions become anonymous accessories. DD157 has its own numbered release and recognizable uniform treatment.

Keep that identity in the collection record even when the figure is displayed beside Bradley or another officer. The original single-figure offering does not automatically include the personalities or vehicles shown around it.

Release record and collecting notes

Sager’s archived DD157 product record lists a release date of September 2011 and a retirement date of June 2014. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
