The Operation ToyBox catalog · DD152

DD152 carries a 105mm howitzer in an open tracked vehicle, with a circular machine-gun position rising at one front corner. That conspicuous raised position helps explain the Priest nickname.

A church reference on a military vehicle

The Royal Canadian Artillery Museum’s M7 history connects the name with the pulpit-like machine-gun position. It describes an armoured, open-topped self-propelled howitzer, rather than a turreted tank.

The distinction matters when browsing the collection. Tracks and armour do not make every vehicle the same kind of subject; here the central story is mobile artillery.

The commander belongs to the vehicle release

The archived announcement specifies the M7 and a vehicle commander. DD153 supplies two additional gunners under a separate code.

A combined photograph may show all three men around the vehicle, but that larger arrangement should not be mistaken for DD152’s original contents.

Stowage gives the sides their texture

The saved image shows logs along the hull sides and boxes toward the rear. The open compartment reveals the weapon and interior surfaces, while the commander provides a human scale above them.

A slightly elevated three-quarter view is particularly useful here. It preserves the rounded front, open gun space and tall machine-gun position in one image.

A return to the Priest subject

The original announcement presented this as King & Country returning to an earlier vehicle type with a more detailed treatment. That is part of the manufacturer’s own collecting history, separate from the wartime development of the M7.

DD152 belongs as this specific American version with its commander and stowage arrangement. Its open interior also makes the relationship between a vehicle release and separately numbered crew additions especially clear.

Release record and collecting notes

Sager’s archived DD152 product record lists a release date of June 2011 and a retirement date of November 2013. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
