The Operation ToyBox catalog · DD150

DD150 sits on the ground with his BAR angled upward and his face turned to one side. The figure is reloading, a moment that gives the hands and expression more attention than the muzzle.

The initials identify the weapon

BAR stands for Browning Automatic Rifle. The Smithsonian’s M1918A2 collection record preserves the weapon’s formal identity.

The original miniature description calls it a light machine gun, reflecting the support role associated with the subject. Keeping the full Browning name in the article helps distinguish it from the separate .30-calibre machine-gun figure in DD149.

A seated figure among prone companions

The saved image shows one knee raised, the other leg extended and the long weapon held diagonally. That arrangement creates a middle height between a standing infantryman and the prone figures nearby.

The turned face suggests attention beyond the immediate task. It does not establish a particular spoken exchange, but it gives the sculpt a relationship with the space around it.

The magazine-handling moment

The archived announcement identifies reloading as the activity. The hands and lower part of the weapon are therefore important features to keep visible in a display or seller photograph.

A nearby figure can provide an implied companion without crowding the diagonal line of the BAR. The sculpt already has enough movement to work as a small standalone study.

Why this pause belongs in the collection

Military figure ranges can become monotonous when every man is shown firing. DD150 adds a different instant within the same infantry setting.

Its seated posture, raised weapon and expressive head distinguish it from other American support gunners. The wider D-Day history remains the campaign framework, while this single release keeps its own quieter, more individual focus.

Release record and collecting notes

Sager’s archived DD150 product record lists a release date of June 2011 and a retirement date of January 2014. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
