The Operation ToyBox catalog · DD134

DD134 steps forward with equipment and flotation gear in place, adding an officer to the Ranger embarkation sequence. The pose suggests a man moving with the troops rather than standing apart to address them.

The release’s specific role

The archived description identifies an officer leading his men into position. The saved image records the carried equipment, head position and walking stance that distinguish this sculpt.

The figure is anonymous. A collector should not attach a famous Ranger commander’s name simply because the role is an officer.

The preparation stage has its own story

The D-Day historical overview connects the waiting, loading and crossing stages with the eventual assault. DD134 belongs to that sequence of getting people into place.

The miniature’s activity is therefore different from an officer directing fire after landing.

A companion to DD133

Both releases move forward, but their body positions and equipment arrangements are distinct. The officer can give a small column a point of leadership without turning every figure into an identical marching pose.

A little space between the men lets the carried loads remain visible.

Why preserve the single release?

DD134 is easy to absorb into a larger Ranger group and forget as a separately numbered figure. Its own catalog entry keeps the original identity available for comparison.

Use the full reference image when matching an unboxed example. The walking posture, front equipment and officer identification together provide a more useful record than a general description such as American soldier with a pack.

Release record and collecting notes

Sager’s archived DD134 product record lists a release date of May 2010 and a retirement date of May 2012. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
