The Operation ToyBox catalog · DD114
DD114 catches a Canadian soldier falling backward, his raised arm and tilted head breaking the upright stance. It is a single figure built around the instant when movement is interrupted.

The release names the cause
The archived description presents the man as struck by machine-gun fire. The sculpt does not show a separate attacker; the body position carries the entire scene.
The figure belongs to the Canadian infantry sequence associated with the Canadian Scottish Regiment, rather than a generic American or British casualty group.
Casualties on the way inland
The Juno Beach Centre records 22 killed and 61 wounded in the battalion on D-Day. Its account includes losses during the advance beyond the beach.
DD114 is not identified as one of those named men. The history provides context for an anonymous representation of the cost of the landing and advance.
A very different line from the firing figures
The torso bends away from the direction established by the rifle. The arm above the head creates an open shape that distinguishes the sculpt from an ordinary standing soldier.
That pose should remain visible in a display. If placed behind a dense row of infantry, the figure can lose the very gesture that gives it meaning.
Why include this single figure?
DD114 prevents the Canadian group from becoming an uninterrupted sequence of successful forward movement. It adds vulnerability within a small footprint.
Keep the exact reference with the code so that the casualty can be identified independently of whatever larger scene a collector chooses around him.
Release record and collecting notes
Sager’s archived DD114 product record lists a release date of July 2009 and a retirement date of August 2012. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
