The Operation ToyBox catalog · DD064

DD064 gives the British infantry section a walking patrol. The four men carry different weapons and loads, with helmets and web equipment creating a shared appearance without making the poses identical.

Look at how the equipment is carried

The original description presents four watchful, tired soldiers moving forward. In the saved image, the variation lies in the hands, shoulders and carried weapons as much as in the step of each figure.

That makes the set useful for a quieter part of a campaign display. It suggests movement between positions without requiring every man to be firing.

The campaign beyond a single beach scene

The D-Day series history follows the Allied story beyond the landings. A British patrol provides one way to represent that wider ground campaign.

The figures are representative soldiers, and the surviving record does not assign them to a particular named patrol. Keeping that open avoids turning a display choice into a supposed release fact.

A little spacing reveals the variety

A diagonal line can show the carried loads more clearly than four bases arranged directly behind one another. Give the lowest-held weapon room so it does not merge into a neighbouring figure’s equipment.

A simple road edge or strip of open ground is enough to establish movement.

Why the original quartet matters

DD064 contributes a specific set of British walking poses to the catalog. It is especially useful when identifying loose figures because the short phrase “Tommy patrol” may otherwise be applied to almost any British infantry group.

Compare each pose with the reference photo and keep the four-man combination intact in the collection record. The differing burdens are much of what makes the group interesting.

Release record and collecting notes

Sager’s archived DD064 product record lists a release date of July 2005 and a retirement date of June 2008. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
