King & Country DD059 Bren Gun Carrier: The Small Tracked Workhorse in British Markings

A vehicle that leaves the people visible

An open carrier provides a different relationship between crew and machinery from a closed tank. The men and their equipment remain part of the main silhouette instead of disappearing into hatches.

Within the D-Day catalog’s wider Allied story, that makes DD059 a useful bridge between British infantry figures and the heavier armour.

Try a view from the front corner

A slightly elevated angle reveals the crew compartment while retaining a view of the track run. Placing the model behind a high bank would hide much of the low vehicle.

One or two dismounted figures nearby can establish a small interaction, but they remain additions to the two-crewman release described in the archive.

Why the carrier deserves its own space

DD059 adds a compact support vehicle with a clear British identity. Its open layout rewards a close look at the people, stowage and low armour sides.

When checking a used example, compare both crew figures and the visible equipment with the reference photograph. A complete hull alone does not establish that the original set is complete.

Release record and collecting notes

Sager’s archived DD059 product record lists a release date of July 2005 and a retirement date of May 2007. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
