The Operation ToyBox catalog · AL107
AL107 sits upright on a brown horse with one foreleg lifted. The officer’s moustache, slouch hat and visible saddle equipment give him a clear character, but the most unusual feature is less obvious in a still photograph: his head can turn.

A feature borrowed from another range
King & Country’s AL107 description specifically identifies the turning-head feature and says it was first introduced in the company’s John Ford Cavalry horsemen. That is an interesting connection between two very different mounted collections.
The feature allows the officer’s attention to be directed toward another figure. A still reference image records only one arrangement, so it does not show the full reason for the release title.
A glance can organize a group
With the officer looking toward a mounting trooper, the figures appear to share a moment before departure. Turn the composition toward an observing staff officer instead and the same mounted pose can become part of a small command scene.
The horse’s lifted foreleg supplies movement without the extended gallop of the early charging subjects. It gives the rider enough animation to avoid a completely static portrait while leaving the head as the main point of interaction.
The pauses along the road
The War Memorial’s photograph of light horsemen resting with their mounts near Jerusalem offers a campaign setting in which men and animals are gathered between movements. Such scenes provide plenty of room for conversation, waiting and observation in a miniature collection.
AL107 works best when he has someone or something to acknowledge. Check the condition of the head and its fit when examining an example, as well as the horse’s legs and reins. The pleasure of this release lies in a modest physical feature that changes how the officer relates to every figure placed around him.
Release record and collecting notes
King & Country’s AL107 release reference identifies this model without giving a release or retirement date on the linked page. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
