The Operation ToyBox catalog · AL010
AL010 looks down at his rifle instead of along its sights. The weapon rests across the kneeling soldier’s body, with his hands occupied around it. This is a small interruption in the action, and that is precisely what makes the figure useful beside the firing poses.

A moment of work
The catalog names the action as loading. The lowered head and rifle angle support that reading without needing an elaborate base or another figure to explain it. Pale sleeves frame the reddish wooden stock, drawing attention toward the hands.
It is worth comparing the pose directly with AL009. Both soldiers kneel, but their attention goes in different directions: one outward toward the scene, the other inward toward his equipment. The distinction stays readable even in a fairly compact infantry group.
The rifle was more than a silhouette
The War Memorial’s surviving Ottoman Mauser is described as a bolt-action rifle, with sights, a wooden stock and Ottoman markings. Those are details of a real service weapon, whose handling involved more than the instant of firing.
AL010 can prompt that broader look at infantry equipment without pretending that the miniature provides a technical cutaway. Its value is observational: a soldier pauses to attend to the object on which his next action depends.
Give him a little breathing space
I would place him slightly behind a firing figure or alongside a low position, where his lowered gaze is visible. Put him directly behind a tall wall and the hands disappear, leaving only another helmet and shoulders.
The kneeling base also offers a useful transition between standing infantry and lower machine-gun teams. The eye steps down through the figures rather than meeting an even line of heads. Check the rifle’s length and the hands against the reference when buying a loose example; those small features carry the entire subject. A quiet pose can do a surprising amount of storytelling when the figures around it are busier.
Release record and collecting notes
Sager’s archived AL010 product record lists a release date of May 2010 and a retirement date of April 2014. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
