The Operation ToyBox catalog · WS-S01

Six black-uniformed figures stand before a winter-finished Tiger. WS-S01 brings together the WS344 tank and the WS345 parade group, making the relationship between the vehicle and the people the central feature of the package.

A bundle, with identifiable components

The archived description retains a WS345 heading, but its opening explanation explicitly identifies the combined tank and six-figure offering. That distinction matters: the parade figures alone are a different purchase from this combined set.

The photograph shows Tiger S04 behind the group. In a display, the pale vehicle becomes a backdrop against which the dark clothing is particularly easy to read.

A staged meeting and its propaganda setting

King & Country presents the scene as a meeting between Michael Wittmann, his crew and Jochen Peiper. Its own narrative connects the occasion with Nazi propaganda. The arranged presentation is therefore part of the subject, rather than a neutral snapshot of everyday armored operations.

Peiper’s wider history also belongs in the account. The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum records the murder of American prisoners by members of his formation during the Ardennes offensive. A collectible portrayal should not separate the recognizable officer from that history.

Give the figures room in front of the tank

A shallow arc can preserve the interaction between the men while keeping the turret number visible. Crowding them against the hull makes the bundle look like a tank with indistinct accessories.

For identification, compare the winter Tiger and all six figures together. The appeal of WS-S01 as a catalog subject is its combined composition and the questions raised by a deliberately staged wartime image, rather than the uncritical repetition of combat legends.

Release record and collecting notes

Sager’s archived WS-S01 product record lists a release date of November 2017 and a retirement date of May 2018. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
