The Operation ToyBox catalog · WS378
WS378 divides the action between two hands: one carries the MP40, while the other holds a stick grenade. The equipment gives this standing leader a more specific identity than the title alone suggests.

The hands define the release
The manufacturer presents the man as a watchful squad leader accompanying the drinking-soldier subject. He is not raising a signal like WS365 or lifting a drink like WS377.
The grenade and submachine gun create separate vertical details at either side of the body. Both should remain visible in a reference photograph.
The clothing stays in the mixed-uniform group
A plain green-toned jacket sits above patterned trousers, with a plain helmet and light-colored equipment pouch at the front. The contrast is easy to see even before inspecting smaller insignia.
The stance is upright but slightly turned. That keeps the figure from looking like a symmetrical parade pose despite his relatively still feet.
Leadership does not always mean a raised arm
WS365 communicates through a conspicuous hand signal. WS378 communicates the manufacturer’s intended readiness through the equipment being held and the direction of his attention.
Comparing those two releases shows how the range gives more than one visual interpretation to the same broad squad-leader role.
The model is an anonymous figure in the Normandy HJSS grouping. It does not establish the personal experience or exact actions of a named NCO.
WS378 contains this one man. The drinking soldier and any surrounding infantry are separate releases.
For identification, check the two different objects, plain jacket and patterned trousers together. A seller’s generic label can hide the very details that make this particular squad-leader figure worth recording separately.
Release record and collecting notes
Sager’s archived WS378 product record lists a release date of June 2023. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
