The Operation ToyBox catalog · WS361

The bare head, marked face and injured-looking knee make WS361 immediately different from a combat-ready soldier. His raised hands and uncertain stance suggest the aftermath of violence rather than another moment of attack.

The title describes a condition

The manufacturer identifies the figure as a Waffen-SS prisoner in a Resistance-related setting. Its brief description makes broad claims about the fate of captured SS men, but it supplies no evidence for applying those claims to most prisoners.

The catalog therefore records the intended captured, battered subject without inventing a named captor, location or inevitable next event. The visible injuries are enough to explain the miniature’s departure from the usual field pose.

Clothing no longer supplies an orderly outline

The light-toned jacket, uncovered hair and irregular hand positions create a disheveled appearance. Red marks around the face and leg draw attention to the figure’s condition.

A full-height front-quarter photograph is useful because the knee is as much an identifying detail as the face. Cropping at the waist removes part of the story.

A prisoner is a distinct catalog subject

WS361 can belong beside a broader liberation or captivity grouping, but other figures and scenery are separate additions. The release itself contains this one man.

The miniature does not establish whether he committed an individual crime, and its represented injury does not erase the historical affiliation shown by the catalog.

Its place in the collection is the change in status: an armed combatant is now depicted as vulnerable and under someone else’s control. That makes WS361 a subject for thoughtful historical interpretation rather than a generic damaged soldier or an occasion to celebrate mistreatment.

Release record and collecting notes

Sager’s archived WS361 product record lists a release date of January 2022 and a retirement date of June 2025. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
