The Operation ToyBox catalog · WS352

Two men appear above the turret of WS352, making the crew presence unusually prominent. The number 1331 and the non-winter camouflage identify the manufacturer’s interpretation of Wittmann’s Tiger at Kursk.

The date belongs to a much larger operation

The product description sets the model on 5 July 1943. The Tank Museum identifies that as the start of Operation Citadel, the German attempt to close the Kursk salient after repeated delays.

The Soviet defenders used the time to strengthen successive defensive belts. This was a contest of prepared defenses, reserves and combined forces, not a battle whose outcome can be explained by one commander’s score.

The named crew are part of the release narrative

King & Country identifies Wittmann and gunner Bobby Woll in the turret openings. The original sales text also repeats detailed destruction claims; those are not independently verified here and should not become a catalog tally presented as fact.

The figures themselves give the model a clear compositional difference from a Tiger with all hatches closed or a single half-body commander.

Read the number with the whole model

The four-digit turret marking is an important checkpoint, together with the camouflage and two supplied crew figures. The long gun, broad tracks and turret fittings provide the surrounding vehicle identity.

Other Tiger releases use different finish and crew combinations, so the numeral should be compared with the complete presentation when identifying an example.

WS352 belongs in the catalog as this particular Kursk-associated interpretation. The named Waffen-SS subjects should remain historically contextualized, with the model’s identifiable contents separated from the heroic language of its original marketing.

Release record and collecting notes

Sager’s archived WS352 product record lists a release date of May 2019 and a retirement date of April 2021. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
