The Operation ToyBox catalog · WS351
The small contrasting spots are what make WS351’s camouflage interesting. Across the broad patches of color, those dots interrupt the surface again, giving Panther 412 a different appearance from a simply striped or two-tone vehicle.

The finish has a name
The manufacturer calls the scheme Hinterhalt-Tarnung, or ambush camouflage, and identifies the intended subject with the 2nd SS Panzer Regiment of the Das Reich Division. The included commander rises from the turret hatch.
The paint treatment is the release’s main visual theme. An elevated side-quarter view shows the spots across more than one surface, rather than hiding them behind the barrel.
Air power was part of the wider setting
The RAF Museum’s account of D-Day air operations describes attacks on roads, bridges and rail targets intended to obstruct German movement and supply. The threat came from a system of air operations, not only isolated aircraft duels with tanks.
That provides useful context for concealment without treating a camouflage scheme as a guarantee that a vehicle could remain unseen.
The commander is included; extra seated men are separate
WS353 and WS354 are related crew additions that can appear on tanks in promotional images. Their presence in a larger display does not make them part of WS351.
The number 412, mottled finish and supplied hatch commander should be checked together when identifying this Panther. A broad Ausf. G description does not establish the exact release.
WS351 belongs in the catalog as a specific combination of Panther variant, markings and camouflage. Its surface detail rewards a closer look even beside several other examples of the same tank family.
Release record and collecting notes
Sager’s archived WS351 product record lists a release date of June 2019 and a retirement date of February 2023. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
