King & Country DD351 The Barber and His Victim: A Public Punishment in Miniature

This is not an ordinary haircut

The release belongs to King & Country’s depiction of the post-Liberation purge. The title’s reference to a victim is central: the scene represents punitive head-shaving and humiliation.

The CNRS account of research by Fabrice Virgili and Fabien Lostec distinguishes public head-shaving from lawful sentencing and describes the way moral and sexual judgments shaped punishment of women. A staged public accusation did not establish the facts of an individual case.

Why preserve this subject in the catalog?

The set records a part of liberation that sits uneasily beside images of welcome and victory. Including it makes the civilian aftermath visible, provided the description explains what is happening without treating humiliation as entertainment.

DD350’s mother and child form a related but separate subject. Neither release identifies named individuals or establishes their alleged conduct.

For a collecting record, keep the standing man, seated woman and chair composition clearly photographed. The distinctive subject deserves the same precision about contents and historical limits as any vehicle or infantry set.

Release record and collecting notes

Sager’s archived DD351 product record lists a release date of October 2021. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
