The Operation ToyBox catalog · WS380
WS380 stays close to the ground, with his weapon held low across the front of his body. The crouch compresses the figure beneath the helmet, while the pack behind his shoulders gives the small pose a surprisingly substantial outline.

The weapon is part of the dating
King & Country identifies the scout’s weapon as a Sturmgewehr 44 and presents the figure with its 12th SS Normandy subjects. The curved magazine and rifle-length body should not be casually described as another MP40.
A historical discussion in the U.S. Army’s Army History, Summer 2015 connects the late-war StG44 with the move toward a shorter rifle cartridge suited to practical combat distances. The equipment therefore belongs to a specific stage of weapons development, even though the sculpt itself is an anonymous interpretation.
One figure, several useful views
The manufacturer’s reference image shows the same scout from five angles. This is a single-figure release, not a five-man patrol. The additional views let us follow the camouflage jacket, carried equipment and weapon around a pose that can look quite different from the front and rear.
The pale gray trousers separate visually from the darker upper body, while the low hands leave the head and shoulders comparatively unobstructed.
Use the crouch to change the rhythm
On a shelf full of standing infantry, WS380 changes the height of the group. Place him where the viewer can see the weapon and the direction of his attention, rather than burying him behind taller figures.
The division affiliation should remain attached to the description, but the miniature does not establish the identity or experiences of an actual soldier. Its catalog value is the clearly identifiable crouching scout, his late-war weapon and the unusually low silhouette within the wider WS range.
Release record and collecting notes
King & Country’s official catalog WS380 release reference identifies this model without giving a release or retirement date on the linked page. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
