The Operation ToyBox catalog · WS264

The wounded soldier in WS264 sits on a wooden crate while a nurse works at the bandage around his head. Her raised hands and downward attention create the center of the scene, with the seated body giving her room to work above him.

The treatment is specific

King & Country describes a wound being rebandaged. The reference image makes the location clear: the nurse is attending the soldier’s head, not an arm or a leg.

The title adds a conversational touch, but it should not be treated as a documented quotation. The medical action is what the sculpture actually records.

The crate supplies an improvised seat

The simple wooden box gives the casualty a lower position without requiring a full hospital bed. His uniform and boots remain visible beneath the nurse’s hands.

That arrangement creates a different setting from WS263’s bedside letter-writing pair. One scene concentrates on a reclining patient; this one keeps the soldier seated and the nurse standing.

Two figures whose gestures belong together

The nurse’s arms make sense in relation to the casualty’s bandaged head. Separating them too widely would turn the treatment into an unexplained raised-hand pose.

The record does not name the soldier or nurse and does not establish the wound’s outcome. It supplies a close, anonymous moment of care.

WS264’s collecting interest lies in that compact vertical relationship: crate, seated patient and standing nurse. The difference in height allows the treatment to remain visible even in a small display.

A front-quarter photograph can show the hands, bandage and patient’s face together. Those are the details to compare when identifying a loose pair, especially where medical figures from several releases have been mixed into a larger scene.

The complete two-person interaction is what gives this release its identity within the medical collection.

Release record and collecting notes

Sager’s archived WS264 product record lists a release date of February 2014 and a retirement date of May 2018. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
