The Operation ToyBox catalog · WS216
Missing side guards expose the running gear of WS216, giving the gray Tiger I a visibly worn appearance. The number 213 and shirt-sleeved commander distinguish this early-production interpretation from the winter Tiger released alongside it.

The model includes deliberate absences
King & Country describes missing track guards and a missing front wheel cover, as well as a rear turret bin adapted from a Panzer III type. Those features are part of the intended model, so an absent-looking item should be compared with the reference before being assumed lost.
The exposed wheels and tracks make the lower half especially prominent. The commander adds a small, lighter human detail above the broad turret.
The 1942 claim needs qualification
The release assigns the tank to Heavy Panzer Battalion 503 and also proposes an August–November 1942 operational setting. Those claims do not fit neatly together.
The Tank Museum’s account of the Tiger’s debut identifies Battalion 502 with the first 1942 deployment. Specialist photographic research on Battalion 503 places that unit’s initial eastern deployment in January 1943. This catalog therefore retains the manufacturer’s 503/213 attribution while avoiding the unsupported 1942 combat date.
A useful comparison with the winter release
WS220 applies whitewash and supplies a different commander. The contrast lets collectors compare how finish and crew treatment change the same broad early-Tiger subject.
WS216’s interest lies in its gray, deliberately stripped appearance and distinctive turret equipment. The chronology note makes the release more useful as a historical collectible rather than simply repeating every sentence of its original sales description.
Photographs of both sides and the rear bin are particularly valuable when checking an example.
Release record and collecting notes
Sager’s archived WS216 product record lists a release date of October 2012 and a retirement date of December 2015. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
