The Operation ToyBox catalog · WS190
A Hitler Youth boy lies behind the machine gun while a kneeling Luftwaffe instructor leans beside him in WS190. The two bodies and the long weapon form a low training scene, with the adult’s attention directed toward the learner.

The lesson belongs to the final-war grouping
The release description identifies both roles explicitly. This is not a conventional two-man SS machine-gun team: one figure is a youth and the other an air-force instructor.
The U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum’s account places the militarization of youth within the regime’s wider preparation for war and its final manpower crisis. That context prevents the miniature from becoming an uncomplicated picture of routine instruction.
The gun has its own production history
Royal Armouries describes the MG42’s use of pressed steel components and the reduced manufacturing time compared with the MG34. The surviving weapon offers a technical comparison for the miniature’s long, perforated outline.
The historical equipment story and the human story intersect here: a mass-produced weapon is being explained to a very young user.
The instructor changes how the pose is read
Without the kneeling man, the prone figure might be read simply as firing. The adult’s close position and the manufacturer’s title establish instruction as the intended activity.
The different headgear and clothing also help distinguish the two figures. A low front-quarter view preserves their faces and the relationship between the hands and weapon.
A compact scene with a serious purpose
Keep the pair together and give the gun room along the base. Other militia figures can sit nearby, but they should not obscure the interaction.
WS190 broadens the late-war catalog through a training subject whose participants matter as much as the equipment. The child, instructor and machine gun are all necessary to understand the release.
Release record and collecting notes
Sager’s archived WS190 product record lists a release date of May 2011 and a retirement date of March 2014. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
