The Operation ToyBox catalog · DD279B

DD279B is Sager’s designation for the return of King & Country’s Fury Sherman. The familiar logs, carried equipment and turret crewman connect it visually with the earlier DD279, while the dealer’s August 2026 release record gives collectors a separate listing to track.

Keep the naming difference visible

The manufacturer’s current Fury page describes a return after the original 2016 release and 2021 retirement, but displays the model number DD279. The B suffix used here follows the dealer record; it should not be mistaken for proof of a newly designated Sherman variant.

The available descriptions do not establish a detailed list of tooling changes. Compare the actual example offered, its packaging and its stated release rather than reading improvements into the suffix.

The screen tank was itself a transformation

The Tank Museum’s vehicle record identifies the real filming Sherman as an M4A2E8 dressed to represent an M4A3E8. The museum is at Bovington, and its identification is the useful reference when discussing the surviving vehicle behind the film.

The miniature follows the screen identity. That makes this a layered subject: a preserved tank, a fictional wartime crew and a model inspired by their appearance.

A living vehicle has another kind of return

The museum’s June 2026 preservation update describes work on Fury’s suspension and running gear. Maintaining the real machine is a continuing project, quite separate from bringing a miniature back into production.

That parallel gives the reissue an appealing retrospective angle. Both the collectible and the full-size survivor keep the film’s tank in public view, through very different forms of care.

Use the DD279 and DD279B entries together when comparing listings. The goal is a clear release history, with the manufacturer’s numbering and the dealer’s suffix both recorded openly.

Release record and collecting notes

Sager’s archived DD279B product record lists a release date of August 2026. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
