King & Country DD270-2 Standing Paratrooper — 101st Airborne: A Screaming Eagle Before Leaving the Ground

A portrait built around the carried load

The man’s arms rest across his chest equipment, with his rifle upright beside him. His stance is settled and the face remains beneath the helmet, so the eye naturally moves across the bags, straps and pockets.

Those layers are the subject of the sculpt as much as the uniform. From the side, the equipment gives the body a bulk quite different from the streamlined outline of a running figure.

Keep the division attached to the figure

When comparing listings, look for the complete DD270-2 code and a photograph of the shoulder. A seller’s general description of an American paratrooper does not resolve which of the two versions is offered.

The release description does not identify an individual or a particular aircraft load. The most useful historical reading stays with the visible subject: a 101st Airborne man equipped for the jump, waiting while the equipment remains close and heavy around him.

In the wider DD catalog, this figure supplies a pause before the open parachutes and ground fighting. Its stillness lets the small details do the storytelling.

Release record and collecting notes

Sager’s archived DD270-2 product record lists a release date of August 2015 and a retirement date of August 2018. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
