The Operation ToyBox catalog · WS183
The bundle of Panzerfausts dominates WS183. Long tubes and bulbous warheads lie across the infantryman’s body, giving the figure a distinctive, awkward-looking load. The catalog title is dramatic, but the sculpt’s most useful subject is the man carrying equipment.

A regular soldier among militia figures
The release description presents him as an experienced infantryman intended to instruct and lead the Volkssturm. His uniform distinguishes him from the civilian-coated older men, while the load links him to the weapons they were expected to use.
That role is part of the manufacturer’s interpretation. The figure is not a portrait of a named instructor, and the title does not establish a personal record of tanks destroyed.
The weapon and the mobilization
The German Historical Museum’s account includes Panzerfausts among the weapons issued to Volkssturm formations. It also emphasizes their poor preparation and the regime’s propaganda about continued resistance.
The bundle makes that historical connection visible without requiring a tank to be present. It shows equipment being carried into a setting where the availability of a weapon and the readiness of its user were very different questions.
A carrying pose, not an action demonstration
In a display, I would place the figure near the older militia subjects or beside a small gathering point. The tubes should remain visible across the torso, with enough room around their projecting ends.
The contrasting regular uniform helps a group avoid becoming a row of similar greatcoats. It also invites a conversation about the different backgrounds of men brought together in the final mobilization. For collecting, count the visible weapons and compare their arrangement with the reference image, along with the hands supporting them. WS183 adds a specific supporting role to the late-war group, while its forceful catalog title is best understood as a product name rather than a historical claim about the individual.
Release record and collecting notes
Sager’s archived WS183 product record lists a release date of March 2011 and a retirement date of March 2014. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
