The Operation ToyBox catalog · WS140
A German soldier leans toward a woman in a blue dress, with a broom and bucket bringing the scene into an everyday domestic setting. WS140 uses two closely placed figures to suggest a personal encounter in occupied Europe.

A provocative title needs careful reading
The manufacturer titled the release Collaboration and described the soldier attempting to make friends. The sculpt does not establish a named relationship, a country, or the woman’s motives.
Her presence beside a soldier cannot by itself tell us whether affection, accommodation, pressure or some other circumstance lies behind the encounter. The catalog records the manufacturer’s title without turning a fictional woman into a historical accusation.
The larger word has a larger history
The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum’s account of collaboration examines participation by governments, administrations, police and individuals in Nazi persecution. That institutional and political history is much broader than a personal relationship suggested by two miniatures.
The distinction helps keep the set’s intimate scene in proportion. Occupation shaped civilian life, but one staged encounter cannot stand for everyone’s experience.
The household objects change the mood
The woman’s blue clothing and pale apron contrast strongly with the soldier’s field uniform. The broom draws a vertical line beside them, while the bucket anchors the little group at ground level.
These details make the scene feel attached to a doorstep or courtyard even without a building. A plain architectural background can give them room without competing with the bright dress.
A different kind of catalog subject
WS140 introduces a civilian into a range otherwise crowded with soldiers and vehicles. Its value as a retrospective subject lies partly in the questions the title raises and partly in its unusual domestic composition.
Keep the pair and household details together when identifying a complete example. They are what distinguish this specific vignette from a generic soldier-and-civilian grouping.
Release record and collecting notes
Sager’s archived WS140 product record lists a release date of June 2010 and a retirement date of September 2013. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
