The Operation ToyBox catalog · DD210

A kneeling medic attends a casualty lying on the ground in DD210. The suspended fluid container and tubing give this compact scene a specific medical activity rather than a general rescue pose.

The release title and the sales description differ

The title calls the scene Blood Transfusion, while the archived description refers to plasma. Whole blood and plasma should not be treated as interchangeable labels, and a painted miniature cannot reliably establish the precise contents of its container.

This catalog retains the original product title and explains that limit instead of turning the sales sentence into a clinical claim.

A large programme behind a small bottle

The U.S. Army Medical Department’s history of wartime plasma equipment describes the development of standardized packages that combined the necessary containers and administration equipment. Packaging was part of making medical supplies usable close to casualties.

Its account of whole-blood use also explains the separate logistical difficulties of storage, transport and delivery to combat areas. The history behind the little scene therefore reaches far beyond the two men represented.

The vertical support frames the patient

The raised container and its support create a tall line beside the low casualty. The medic bends between those two levels, visually connecting the equipment with the man receiving care.

Keeping the tubing visible is important to the composition. A high wall or crowded foreground can hide the very detail that distinguishes the release from another kneeling medic.

A companion to the evacuation scenes

DD209 shows a wounded man being helped away; DD210 presents a pause for treatment. They can broaden a medical display without being described as the same casualty at successive moments.

This release belongs in the collection because it points toward the work, equipment and supply networks behind battlefield medicine. The reference remains a historical miniature, with a clear distinction between its depicted scene and modern medical guidance.

Release record and collecting notes

Sager’s archived DD210 product record lists a release date of May 2013 and a retirement date of February 2014. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
