The Operation ToyBox catalog · DD107-01
LCA 711 is painted prominently beside the bow ramp of DD107-01. The open troop compartment and two-tone hull finish connect it with the DD landing-craft family, while the number distinguishes this specific release.

The marking is the first comparison
The archived listing identifies DD107-01 as the 711 version. The related DD107 article records LCA 718. Retaining both the suffix and the hull marking makes the difference easier to follow than calling either model simply a British landing craft.
The short 711 record provides little additional production detail. It should not be padded with a release date or a claimed historical crew that the archive does not name.
A British craft in a shared Allied operation
The U.S. Naval History and Heritage Command’s D-Day account describes Royal Navy LCAs carrying American Rangers toward Pointe du Hoc. The landing story crossed national service boundaries.
That is background for the craft type. It does not, by itself, establish the wartime journey of the particular 711 number represented on the miniature.
The interior is part of the appeal
The low sides leave the long open compartment visible, with seating along the interior and crew positions toward the ends. The lowered ramp carries the eye from the inside of the craft onto the imagined shore.
A slightly elevated view reveals much more of this arrangement than a waterline photograph alone. Additional infantry passengers can enlarge the display, but should be identified as separate figures rather than assumed contents from a combined scene.
A landing scene needs space ahead
Leave room beyond the ramp so that the boat’s purpose remains clear. Water texture along the hull and a restrained strip of beach can be enough to establish the transition from sea to land.
DD107-01 earns its place as a real numbered variant. The full code allows a collector to compare it with 718 without merging two distinct manufacturer releases.
Release record and collecting notes
Sager’s archived DD107-01 product record lists a retirement date of May 2011. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
