The Operation ToyBox catalog · DD198
DD198 joins a British commando and a German sentry in a single close-combat vignette. Their intertwined poses make the relationship between the two men, rather than a separate weapon or vehicle, the entire subject.

Two men, photographed from both sides
The saved reference image presents front and rear views of the same two-figure scene. It does not show four separate figures.
The brown commando uniform and the sentry’s grey-green clothing help distinguish the bodies where their arms overlap. A side view is useful for understanding the sculpt’s arrangement without obscuring one figure behind the other.
The knife became a commando symbol
The National Army Museum holds a Fairbairn-Sykes knife carried by Sergeant Stan Scott of No.3 Commando in Normandy in 1944. That surviving object connects the familiar commando image with a named serviceman and a documented campaign.
DD198 does not depict Scott or a verified event from his service. The museum object offers historical context for the equipment theme, rather than an identity for the anonymous miniature.
A dramatic sculpt is not a historical instruction sheet
Some original sales copy describes the imagined injury in sensational terms. Those claims are not needed to understand the release and should not be mistaken for medical fact or a reliable account of a real incident.
The useful catalog information is the two-figure composition, the represented nationalities and its place among King & Country’s commando subjects.
Keeping the scene legible
A restrained base around the vignette lets the viewer see the interaction. Additional attacking figures can make the small composition harder to read and shift attention away from the original sculpt.
DD198 belongs as a dramatic example of the raider theme in the collection. Its historical presentation works best with a clear distinction between documented commando history and the model maker’s composed action scene.
Release record and collecting notes
Sager’s archived DD198 product record lists a release date of July 2013. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
