The Operation ToyBox catalog · WS108
The white map held by one crewman catches the eye before the little tank in WS108. Two black-clad figures stand at different heights beside a camouflage Panzer I with the turret number 142.

The photograph matches the original brochure
An older King & Country brochure saved in the Operation ToyBox library shows the same tank and crew under the WS108 caption. That makes it a useful cross-check for the cleaner set photograph used here.
The other marching and machine-gun figures pictured around it in the brochure have their own codes. They are not additional contents of WS108.
A variant claim to treat cautiously
The archived sales description calls the vehicle a Panzer I Ausf.F and links it to early-war campaigns. The pictured miniature has the narrow outline and small-wheel running gear associated visually with earlier Panzer I forms, making that designation questionable.
This entry therefore retains the brochure’s broader New Panzer I title. It does not endorse the archive’s exact variant or campaign claims without a better technical identification. The model’s identity as release WS108 is much clearer than that historical subtype label.
The crew turn the vehicle into a conversation
One tanker holds the map above the side of the hull, while the other stands on the ground with binoculars at his chest. Their relative heights make the tank’s compact proportions easy to appreciate.
The map also supplies a natural centre for a small display. Position the two men so that their attention can meet across it, rather than separating them into unrelated sentry-like poses.
Three things to compare in a listing
- The camouflage tank and its 142 turret marking.
- The map-holding figure associated with the hull-side position.
- The separate standing crewman in black uniform.
Those visible details provide a practical starting point even when a seller repeats the uncertain variant description. WS108 earns its own entry through its distinctive two-man scene and its place in the history of King & Country’s smaller armoured releases.
Release record and collecting notes
Sager’s archived WS108 product record lists a release date of April 2008 and a retirement date of December 2009. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
