The Operation ToyBox catalog · DD147

DD147 puts an American officer flat on the ground, with his Thompson held forward and his face turned toward the men beside him. The open mouth gives the otherwise low, compact figure an unmistakable activity: he is calling out.

An officer without the parade-ground height

Command figures often stand above the rest of a display, pointing or looking through binoculars. This one shares the same ground as the prone riflemen and machine gunner released around it.

The archived description identifies an officer shouting to his men. It leaves the unit, location and individual unnamed, so the miniature remains a representative infantry subject within the D-Day campaign collection.

The face is the important detail

The saved image shows the head turned away from the weapon’s forward line. That small twist creates two directions within one figure: the gun points outward while the officer’s attention reaches toward his companions.

The holster, belt equipment and folds in the uniform add texture along his back. A side view reveals those details, but a view from the face side best explains the sculpt’s central idea.

Building a low group

DD148’s two riflemen and DD149’s machine gunner offer related low poses. They can form a visually connected group without placing every figure in a perfectly straight row.

A modest change in spacing leaves the officer’s expression visible. High foreground scenery can hide nearly the whole figure, so the ground itself needs to do more of the display work.

DD147 belongs as a leadership pose that avoids the familiar standing commander. Its interest is in the relationship between face, voice and body position, with the original single-figure code kept distinct from the companion infantry sets.

Release record and collecting notes

Sager’s archived DD147 product record lists a release date of June 2011 and a retirement date of January 2014. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
