The Operation ToyBox catalog · DD146
DD146 puts a female ATS driver behind the wheel of a small Austin utility vehicle. The canvas-covered rear body, spare wheel above the cab and dark camouflage patches give this little Tilly plenty to look at.

A star does not make it American
The archived release identifies a British Army vehicle in Normandy-themed camouflage. The Allied star visible on the model should not override that identification when assigning a nationality.
The original announcement describes this as the third version in a Series 250 group, with a stated production quantity of 250. That is a historical release statement, rather than a claim about present-day availability.
ATS means Auxiliary Territorial Service
The old retailer copy expands the initials incorrectly. The National Army Museum’s history gives the correct name and explains the increasingly varied work undertaken by women in the ATS, including transport roles.
The driver is therefore part of a substantial wartime service story. She should not disappear from the article behind the vehicle’s camouflage nickname.
The familiar Mickey Mouse pattern
The announcement uses that nickname for the two-colour treatment. In the saved image, the dark rounded patches break up the body while the canvas rear remains a lighter block of colour.
The small wheels and civilian-derived proportions give the vehicle a very different presence from the tanks in the range. The covered load space also suggests practical transport rather than a passenger inspection car.
A headquarters display gains an everyday vehicle
The source places this type of Tilly in support work behind the fighting line. Alongside staff figures or a roadside scene, DD146 introduces both light transport and women’s military service.
Its British identification, ATS driver and particular camouflage are the details that preserve this Normandy version’s identity among the manufacturer’s other small utility vehicles.
Release record and collecting notes
Sager’s archived DD146 product record lists a release date of October 2010. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
