The Operation ToyBox catalog · WS054

WS054 supplies a second three-man seated group for the WS052 prime mover. A bandaged head and differing headgear give this trio an identity distinct from the sergeant-led group in WS053.

A repeated description needs careful reading

The archived page repeats wording from WS053 while also identifying the two passenger groups for WS052. Its title and the saved image distinguish WS054 as the three seated riflemen.

The photograph is therefore particularly valuable: it preserves the actual figures rather than allowing copied retailer text to merge the two releases.

The halftrack is a display support

The vehicle visible around the men demonstrates their seated arrangement. It belongs to WS052 and is not an additional vehicle supplied with this figure code.

Keeping that relationship clear helps collectors compare a loose trio with a complete halftrack display.

The bandage changes the mood

One figure’s head bandage introduces a visible consequence of campaigning into an otherwise quiet transport scene. The other men’s headgear and weapon positions keep the group from looking like three repeated copies.

The WS historical overview supplies the wider context. The set does not identify a named casualty or journey.

Why keep the two passenger sets separate?

WS053 and WS054 can be displayed together, but they preserve different original figure combinations. A catalog should allow collectors to recover those identities after the boxes have been lost.

Compare all three men with the reference, paying attention to the bandage and headgear rather than relying only on the general description “seated Germans.”

Release record and collecting notes

Sager’s archived WS054 product record lists a release date of May 2004 and a retirement date of January 2009. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability. Compare the seller’s actual photographs with the reference image here, including any projecting equipment and the base; a familiar box title alone is not a condition report.
