King & Country DD103 Free French Scout Car: American Hardware on the Road into Paris

The division’s return

Leclerc’s 2nd Armoured Division entered Paris in August 1944 after landing in Normandy earlier that month. The Ordre de la Libération biography describes the general entering the capital standing in his scout car on 25 August.

That gives this vehicle type a memorable connection with the liberation. DD103’s release depicts a French crew entering Paris, but the set is not established here as Leclerc’s exact personal vehicle.

Look into the open body

The side armour surrounds a space that remains visible from above. A front-quarter view reveals the crew and mounted weapons while keeping the front roller and wheels in the picture.

Those projecting components deserve attention when comparing an actual example with the saved reference.

DD101 supplies the larger M10, while DD103 adds a wheeled subject to the same French group. Together they show more variety than another tank alone would provide.

The scout car belongs in the catalog as its own crew-and-markings combination, with DD100’s Leclerc and DD102’s officer remaining separately released companions.

Sager’s archived DD103 product record lists a release date of December 2008. These are catalog dates, rather than a statement about today’s secondhand availability.
